Merab Dvalishvili is a prominent professional mixed artist in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of December 2024, Dvalishvili is the champion of the bantamweight division of the UFC. Dvalishvili started training in sambo and judo right from childhood in his home country of Georgia, owing to his fascination with the combat sports. He left his home when he was 21 and traveled to the USA with a dream of becoming a professional mixed martial artist. He put on his professional gloves in 2014 and fought his first professional fight at Ring of Combat 47. Initially, Dvalishvili struggled to get into his grooves, but a couple of fights down the line, he became unstoppable and demolished every opponent he crossed paths with inside the cage.

In the eighth fight of his professional career, Merab Dvalishvili won the vacant Ring of Combat Bantamweight Championship by outshining Sukhrob Aydarbekov. He defeated Aydarbekov at Ring of Combat 58 by submitting him in the second round. He defended his title once against Raufeon Slots at Ring of Combat 59 by beating him via first-round KO, thanks to his skull-crushing spinning back fist. Merab Dvalishvili then proceeded further and eventually joined the UFC on December 9, 2017. He lost two fights consecutively in the promotion initially but recovered beautifully and crafted a nine-fight winning streak. He has an overall professional record of 18 wins and 4 losses as of December 2024.
