Mikey Musumeci successfully defended his ONE flyweight submission grappling world championship on Friday night, defeating Sambo world champion Gantumur Bayanduuren in one of three world title fights that capped off ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.
It was Musumeci’s first appearance inside the circle since winning the inaugural world title in September. ‘Darth Rigatoni’ was unable to score a submission but earned a unanimous decision victory after the 10-minute time limit thanks to his dominant performance.
During the bout, Musumeci had an incredibly tight hold on Bayanduuren’s leg during the match, but the Mongolian challenger bit down on his mouthpiece and refused to tap.
Following his victory, Mikey Musumeci took to Instagram to reveal that he had been feeling nauseous about making Bayanduuren’s leg "explode" during their highly entertaining encounter.

Fans react to Mikey Musumeci’s world title defense at ONE Fight Night 6
With his victory on Friday night, Mikey Musumeci kept his undefeated streak inside the dircle alive and secured his 60th career win on the mat. Following another spectacular performance, fans on Instagram shared their support for the 26-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu sensation in the comments section of his post.
“Changing the game like always bro keep up the amazing work, always happy to see your success🙏🏼❤️“
“Not your fault he let it explode and didn't tap, being tough isn't always a good idea“
“Amazing work. You continue to master the game. Your opponent made his choice. He should have tapped if he wanted to be able to train the next day. You can only control your actions and you’re a master of those actions. He made his decision and paid the price.“
“Dude we could literally see the confused look on your face everutime you cranked the sub. You very clearly didn’t wanna hurt him but he wouldn’t even consider tapping 😭“
“BJJ is amazing. This guy is one of the 2 scariest men in a whole combat sport“
Though it’s too early to say when we can expect to see Mikey Musumeci back inside the circle, fans are already clamoring for the submission grappling star to be part of ONE Championship’s highly anticipated debut in the United States on May 5.
