- The fighter who was hailed as currently, the greatest fighter in the UFC by Anderson Silva, taunted his fans, critics and most importantly Daniel Cormier by uploading a picture where he compares his out of form self in 2013 to that which he is now.
Clearly, even though suspended and stripped of his title, with a world of rumpus and lawsuits surrounding him, Jones hasn’t stopped training and looks in peak shape. That’s not it, the former champ even mentioned the date of his return, April 23rd.
The UFC has indeed booked an event in "The Big Apple's" Madison Square Garden scheduled for April. There is, however, a possibility of the fight taking place in July instead (courtesy D.C).

Daniel, during his post-fight press conference (after defending his title against Gustafsson), had said “Why should I allow this guy to go and fight where he's comfortable. No, he has to go somewhere where he has to look at people in the eyes and hear the anger they have toward him for the actions that he did."
New York being Jon’s home turf would definitely favour him (which is something D.C did not want). A victory here will put Jones-currently with 15 wins- at par with Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture and Frank Mir, who are all at 16 wins in the UFC.
George Saint Pierre tops this list with 19 victories throughout his UFC career. A win here would also mean that Jones would have pretty much cleared every top contender in his division (Anthony Johnson excluded). The 36-year-old Daniel Cormier, on the other hand, has persevered for quite some time to be the champion and, therefore one can’t expect him to let go of it easily.
Moreover, he’d love to get even with Jones and break his flawless 6-year undefeated streak. We’ll only have to wait and see whether D.C sticks to his words or not. If Dana can successfully persuade him to fight at MSG, April 23 is certainly on the cards.
- Among other things, the former UFC bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz(who was removed from the title because of repeated injuries) has been trash talking a lot heading into his fight with T.J.Dillishaw.
He quipped that T.J became the champion by copying his style. T.J, on the other hand, has been mostly quiet saying only that Cruz wasn’t as good as he was and that he’d find out in two months’ time when the fight takes place.
