Caption

UFC debutant Darren Till opened the fight with a variety of kicks. Oliveira tied him up and looked to take him down. There was a lot of clinch work with no action for most of the round. Till went back to the kicks. Oliveira was coming up short on his punches. Till with a jab and more leg kicks. Oliveira ends the round with his own leg kick.

Till brought much more ferocity in the second round and opened up with a Head kick. Oliveira caught a kick and looked for the takedown, but Till reversed and worked from the top. Three Hard elbows in a row from guard right to the jaw put him to sleep. That was just brutal.

Alex Oliveira def. KJ Noons via submission (rear-naked choke) (R1, 2:51)

Oliveira has a bright UFC future

Alex Oliveira came in on short notice for the second time in UFC but got the job done this time. Noons got things started with a nice right hand, and then a left hook. After eating a few from Noons, he managed to get his opponent against the cage and eventually to the ground.

Noons, got right back to his feet but Oliveira took him down again. Noons attempted to return to his feet again, but Oliveira snuck his forearm under his throat, sat back and forced the tap via RNC. The quickness he showed to get that choke on K.J. Noons was amazing.

Charles Oliveira def. Nik Lentz via submission (guillotine) (R3, 1:10)

Oliveira vs. Lentz was a war

The co-main event bout between Nik Lentz and Charles Oliveira was a back and forth war as both men did a lot of damage and kept a ridiculously high pace for the entire fight. In the end it was Oliveira who emerged victorious with one of the best submission we have seen this year. The first round saw Lentz connect with many hard punches, while Oliveira responded with leg kicks and knees to the body. The pace was tremendous, and both men did damage. Finally near the end of the round, Oliveira connected with another knee to the mid-section that sent Lentz to the ground.

In the second, Lentz was in control, using his grappling to mostly keep Oliveira at bay. They did reverse positions a few times, but Lentz was better, stronger with more control in this round and fight looked even at this point with both men winning one round each. In the third, Oliveira showed ferocity & jumped for a guillotine out of nowhere. After rolling over to mount, the pressure on Lentz neck was too much and he tapped out.

Carlos Condit def. Thiago Alves via second round TKO (doctor's stoppage)

Condit readjusted Alves’ nose

In the main event of the evening Carlos Condit readjusted Alves Nose upon his return to the octagon after a long layoff and proved why he is still one of the very best in the business. Alves whacked Condit with two powerful inside leg kicks in the first round. Condit missed lot of shots and a few head kicks which never connected. Alves ripped another kick to Condit’s legs. Alves landed a nice right hand at the end of the round clearly wining the round over a cautious Condit.

In round two Condit came out busy once again, but Alves thumped another leg kick along with a right hand. Condit dropped Alves with a clean left hook. Alves scrambled, his nose seeping blood, as Condit swarmed and began to dish out serious punishment. Alves somehow survived and got back to his feet and began swinging for the fences. Condit hit him with monster short elbow along the cage, after few more elbows and body shots Condit took Alves down. Condit went for a choke but Alves survived again and was saved by the bell.

In between rounds, the doctor came in and looked at Alves' broken nose. It was deemed that he had taken too much damage and no need to take any more, so the fight was waved off and Condit was awarded a TKO victory.
