Muay Thai legend and former ONE fighter John Wayne Parr was recently seen with famed grappling prodigies the Ruotolo brothers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 'The Gunslinger' will be cornering his fighter and fellow Aussie, Reece McLaren, in the co-main event of ONE 162.
Kade Ruotolo, one-half of the famed jiu-jitsu siblings, will face promotional newcomer Uali Kurzhev for the inaugural ONE lightweight submission grappling world title 12 hours later at ONE on Prime Video 3. Both bouts will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and so the twins and the Muay Thai legend got to mingle before their respective events.
John Wayne Parr posted about his encounter with the grappling superstars on his Instagram:
"Amazing time in Malaysia. Last night met @tyeruotolo. This morning @kaderuotolo. Having a chat was saying my son @jessejamesparr is obsessed with Juijitsu & had a comp this Sunday. I arrive home Sunday morning to watch Jesse on @trilogyinvitationalbjj Sunday afternoon."

Parr also mentioned his son, Jesse James, who is an avid jiu-jitsu practitioner and will be competing in a grappling tournament back home on Sunday. Having met two of the best grapplers today, we're sure Parr asked them for motivational advice for his son. Young Jesse James Parr is a lucky kid indeed.
Kade Ruotolo will face Uali Kurzhev for the inuagural ONE lightweight submission grappling world title
Fresh off a historic win that saw him become the youngest ADCC world champion ever, Kade Ruotolo will be hunting for more gold at ONE on Prime Video 3 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Kade will be gunning for the inaugural ONE lightweight submission grappling world title and will lock horns with multi-time sambo and judo champion, Uali Kurzhev.
During ONE's virtual presser for ONE on Prime Video 3, Kade was asked if his frenetic style of jiu-jitsu would match up well with Kurzhev's hard-hitting sambo grappling. The 19-year old grappling sensation responded with:
"Someone left a comment on my last Instagram post: ‘If Sambo was easy, it would be called Jiu-Jitsu.’ So these matches [jiu-jitsu vs. sambo] are really cool, we can merge the two styles. Sambo guys have great takedowns and leg locks, so it’ll be fun to figure out his style. But I believe in BJJ, we have a few more moves, more options, so it’ll be an interesting matchup."
