“My timing will catch him” - Johan Ghazali insists Johan Estupinan’s breakneck speed won’t be an issue at ONE 170

Johan Ghazali thinks timing will be everything against Johan Estupinan.

Emanating from Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, Ghazali will square off with undefeated Colombian sensation Johan Estupinan — a fighter who has never once known defeat in his professional fighting career.

Speaking with Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post ahead of fight night, Ghazali suggested that his timing will be the trick to countering Estupinan's breakneck speed inside the Circle, leading to his seventh career win under the ONE Championship banner:

"Timing beats speed. Precision beats power. That’s 100 percent. Yeah, he’s fast, but my timing will catch him."

Johan Estupinan has looked nothing short of impressive in his first four appearances with ONE Championship, earning knockouts against Kouta Omori, Sean Climaco, and Zakaria El Jamari while notching a unanimous decision victory over Zafer Sayik in June.

However, despite his quartet of impressive performances and an undeniably intimidating 26-0 record, Johan Ghazali can't see any path to victory for his Colombian opposition at ONE 170. Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA, Ghazali said:

"I don't see a clear path to victory for him, if I'm honest. Not trying to sound cocky or what, but as good as he is, I'm very confident that I'll be able to stop him wherever the fight goes."
