Professional mixed martial artist Nathan Donald Diaz was born on April 16, 1985. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where Diaz competed for over 15 years after winning “The Ultimate Fighter 5,” is where he gained the majority of his notoriety as a fighter.

World Extreme Cagefighting, Strikeforce, and Pancrase were among the organizations in which Diaz competed before joining the UFC. Diaz, with a total of 16, holds the third-highest number of UFC bonus awards.

On September 10, 2022, Diaz was supposed to compete in UFC 279's main event against Khamzat Chimaev, marking the last fight of his UFC contract. Chimaev, however, weighed in seven and a half pounds over the welterweight non-title fight limit at the weigh-ins on September 9. Chimaev was disqualified from his fight with Diaz due to his weight loss.

Tony Ferguson was the opponent Diaz faced in the main event. The fourth-round guillotine choke submission by Diaz gave him the victory. With this victory, Diaz received his second bonus for Performance of the Night. Prior to his fight with Ferguson, Diaz decided not to re-sign with the UFC, making him a free agent after the event.

Diaz chose to pursue boxing, and on April 12, 2023, it was revealed that Diaz would fight Jake Paul in his professional boxing debut. On August 5, 2023, the fight is scheduled to take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
