Liam Harrison is more than ready to recapture his old form ahead of his improbable return from retirement.

The British kickboxing and Muay Thai legend poked fun at himself following his short-lived retirement and promised to unleash the brand of violence that made him such an icon in combat sports.

Taking to Instagram, Harrison joked that he should receive an award for having the worst retirement in Muay Thai and kickboxing.

Liam Harrison wrote:

"And the 2024 award for worst retirement in history goes to ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ 2025 we go hard for one more year @hitman_fightleague @onechampionship ... honest 🤣"

Harrison announced his retirement from ONE Championship following his emotional barnburner against fellow legend Seksan at ONE 168: Denver in September at Ball Arena.

Heading into the Denver card, 'Hitman' came off a two-year injury layoff after he suffered multiple ligament tears in his left knee when he challenged then-holder Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022.

Despite his energy and bravado to light Denver up, Harrison's spirited effort fell short and he lost to Seksan via second-round stoppage.

Nevertheless, Harrison almost pulled off a miraculous comeback when he wobbled the multi-time Muay Thai world champion with a cracking fury after falling to the canvas.

Jonathan Haggerty calls Liam Harrison the greatest British striker of all time

They may have one of the most heated verbal spats in recent memory, but Jonathan Haggerty and Liam Harrison ultimately buried the hatchet during fight week for ONE 168: Denver.

Haggerty headlined the card against Superlek Kiatmoo9, while Harrison faced off against his fellow legend Seksan.

Both fighters revealed in multiple interviews that they've ended the feud, and Haggerty even called Harrison the greatest British striker of all time.

In an interview with the Winners Talking podcast, Haggerty said:

"Yeah. He’s the GOAT. He’s retired now but I think he’s having one more fight now. I think he wants one more fight and it’s going to be in the UK on his own show."
