MMA fans have been reacting to Alex Pereira's latest sparring footage, which shows the UFC light heavyweight champion forcing his partner to retire after landing his signature left hook.
The Brazilian is one of few fighters who remain in fighting shape constantly throughout the year. On multiple occasions, Pereira stepped up on short notice over the course of 2024, and his latest training footage suggests his new fight could be soon on the horizon.
Whilst no opponent has been confirmed, 'Poatan' did reveal earlier this month he had been in Las Vegas for a meeting with UFC officials about his next fight. Magomed Ankalaev is expected to be next, as he sits No.1 in the rankings, but Pereira has continued to keep the name a mystery.
Whoever Alex Pereira next faces is in for a tough time according to the fans, however, after many were spotted reacting to his latest sparring footage. In the video, the 37-year-old lands his signature left hook which even forces his partner to stop.

Chael Sonnen names Alex Pereira as his Fighter of the Year
Chael Sonnen recently outlined why he believes Alex Pereira is the UFC's Fighter of The Year 2024.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Good Guy / Bad Guy podcast, Sonnen and Daniel Cormier made their cases for which fighter they believed has had the biggest impact in 2024. 'DC' named Ilia Topuria as his pick for his wins over Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, whereas Sonnen chose 'Poatan'.
According to 'The American Gangster', Pereira's willingness to step up on short notice to headline UFC 300 and fight anybody should not be overlooked. He explained:
"In theory, that [UFC 300] was the biggest event of Dana White's career. Alex Pereira was so sincere in his desire to headline that card that he was willing to take on Tom Aspinall at heavyweight, and that was not a bluff."
