This card is absolutely stacked in terms of star power and compelling bouts, that each entry is must-see television. However, we've singled out three athletes at this event to watch out for.
Here are three fighters who could steal the show at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video.
1) Anatoly Malykhin
There's no doubt that 'Sladkiy' Anatoly Malykhin is the man to see in this event.
The ONE Championship triple MMA world titleholder is an absolute phenom, and one could argue that he is in fact the hottest heavyweight MMA talent in the world today, and can compete with the best of them.
Standing in his way is the aforementioned Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane, who is a solid fighter, but not anywhere near the proven commodity that is Malykhin.
Look for 'Sladkiy' to add another epic finish to his highlight reel when he silences 'Reug Reug' in electric fashion.
2) Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida
Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida is finally ready to resume his budding mixed martial arts career in the world's largest martial arts organization.
The 34-year-old was last seen in a terrible lopsided decision loss to 'Reug Reug' in Aug. 2023, but he's made incredible strides to take his game to the next level since.
Now, 'Buchecha' is looking to showcase what he's learned, and that he's ready to pick up right where he left off on the way to the top.
A victory over Iran's Amir Aliakbari could be all that Almeida needs to secure the next shot at the heavyweight MMA gold.
3) Kade Ruotolo
Another accomplished submission grappler who is working his way up the ladder in ONE Championship's shark tank of a lightweight MMA division is none other than the United States' Kade Ruotolo.
Ruotolo made his MMA debut in June, with a first-round submission of Blake Cooper. But now, the 21-year-old BJJ black belt is ready for his second fight in the all-encompassing sport.
This time, he takes on Pakistan's Ahmed Mujtaba.
Look for Ruotolo to showcase even more of his steadily improving striking skills, en route to what will likely be another awe-inspiring submission win.
