10 months after the mega showdown between Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 34 in September 2023, the combat sports community was still divided on who won their catchweight Muay Thai bout inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The debate once again came alive when ONE Championship posted a video clip of Superlek's interview where he was asked if he really scored a knockdown against Rodtang. ONE Championship captioned the Instagram post with:
"Do you agree with Superlek? 👀 Don't miss "The Kicking Machine" challenge bantamweight Muay Thai king Jonathan Haggerty on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver 👑 @superlek789"

'The Kicking Machine' believed that it was a legitimate knockdown even after 'The Iron Man' quickly popped back to his feet and protested to the referee. Fans were quick to jump into the conversation, as users @g_nay.ney, @basictigwelder, @samjohnsonkb, @huanlinpk, @bunmeng01, and @madeinchina715 chimed in through their comments voicing their respective opinions:
"5 rounds for the rematch please"
"Geez superlek got that strength to be able to knock him down. Thats crazy"
"Clear knockdown. Rodtang gets elbowed and *then* he rolls his ankle on the way down. If her rolled his ankle and was already falling before he got hit with the elbow, I could believe it was a slip. But that didn't happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
"It was a knockdown and Rodtang fans are just making excuses for him. If there were five rounds, Rodtang would've have lasted because he broke his wrist fighting SuperLek and SuperLek would just keep kneeing him to death or elbowing."
"Not a knockdown. He slipped"
"The elbow might've made him off balanced and slip"
Superlek went on to win two more fights after his massive victory against Rodtang
Following his win over Rodtang, Superlek added two more victories to his record by beating Takeru Segawa in January 2024 at ONE 165 and most recently, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai at ONE Friday Fights 68.
The Kiatmoo9 Gym athlete successfully defended his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title against the Japanese superstar, while he turned back the challenge from his fellow Thai fighter in a flyweight Muay Thai contest.
