Following a successful promotional debut, Mayssa Bastos finds herself in a high-stakes matchup that could land her yet another world championship accolade.
The submission specialist, an eight-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, squares off against Danielle Kelly in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 24 inside the Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, August 2. There, the Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy megastar competes for Kelly's ONE atomweight submission grappling gold.
Knowing what she could well be up against in Bangkok, Thailand, the California-based athlete has gone all out to ensure she heads into her sophomore outing at the peak of her powers.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Mayssa Bastos shared that her key to doing just that is to focus on her strengths, as she said:
"I know what she does, but the focus is on improving my jiu-jitsu so that I can show high-level jiu-jitsu when I fight. The focus is on me, showing a better version of myself."
Should the Brazilian star walk the talk and bring a much better version of herself inside the Mecca of Muay Thai next month, the BJJ practitioner, who has been nicknamed 'Pequena Notável' – which translates to The Remarkable Little One – could walk out of the venue with 26 pounds of gold wrapped around her waist.
North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire ONE Fight Night 24 card live in U.S. primetime for free on August 2.

In her promotional bow at ONE Fight Night 20 this past March, Mayssa Bastos picked up an impressive win over Japanese standout Kanae Yamada inside the Thai capital city.
Though the 26-year-old couldn't close out her debut with a highlight-reel finish, the multi-time world champion was in control throughout the 10-minute duel.
She had her foe figured out from the sound of the bell, and worked into an early back-take where she transitioned and attacked with a variety of submissions to gain an unanimous decision nod and improve her overall record to 109-12.
