Adrian Lee was always going to have more than the average amount of interest surrounding his professional MMA debut.

Being born into the Lee family meant that his path as a martial artist was never going to be the same as what most will experience.

As the youngest of the siblings to turn their attention to a career in combat sports, he had a lot to live up to and whilst the pressure didn't weigh on him too much, the moment did effect him to some degree.

Lee made his pro debut at ONE 167 where he was able to notch his first win by submitting Antonio Mammarella in the second round.

Before he returns in search of his second consecutive win, the lightweight prospect revealed in a recent interview with Cageside Press that the anticipation of that fight got to him:

"There was definitely a lot of nerves cause I was looking forward to this moment for my whole life. And to finally just to get to see it through was truly amazing."

Adrian Lee was able to ride that wave

Learning to control his emotions in those moments is something that will only come with time for Adrian Lee.

Getting through that wave of momentum and coming out on top with a strong performance is what really matters because he was able to evolve and continue moving forward.

Now Lee is set to return on another huge card as he faces Nico Cornejo at the Ball Arena in Denver on September 6.

Competing at ONE 168 is sure to bring some other challenges to the table that he will be forced to adapt to.

If we learned anything from his pro debut it's that he has the ability to do that and come out on top.
