Decorated Canadian Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) megastar Dante Leon introduced himself to ONE Championship fans with a spectacular triangle armbar submission of Bruno Pucci at ONE Fight Night 26 last Friday, Dec. 6.

Speaking with ONE analyst Mitch Chilson in the post-fight interview inside the circle, Leon explained how he got the finish:

"In the beginning, he took a shot, I kind of wasn't expecting it. So I had to focus on that front headlock, put some pressure on the guillotine, was able to get the back, and I really thought I could be able to triangle armbar him from the back."

He continued:

"I thought he'd probably be tough to finish with the rear-naked, but I ended up having a nice chain of submissions. I had a shoulder lock at the first part, switched to a triangle, and then switched to armbar, so I kinda showed a lot there."

When Pucci, who spent the past 11 years as a featherweight MMA fighter, dove at his legs, Leon sprawled onto him to prevent the takedown and deftly floated over him to take his back.

To Pucci's credit, he made Leon work extra hard to get past his guard, but the Pedigo Submission Fighting product's craftiness ultimately led to the submission sequence.

Dante Leon makes good on his pre-fight ambitions

Before his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 26, Dante Leon shared his strategy in an interview with ONE, saying:

"I'm gonna be very aggressive. I'm gonna be very forward, but I'm gona be very controlled and measured as well. There's gonna be nothing reckless. Things will be physical. I will come forward. I won't take no for an answer at some point in the match, and I will impose my game."
