Mayssa Bastos secured her second consecutive win since arriving in ONE Championship this past weekend at ONE Fight Night 24. The Brazilian competitor came into the promotion with a lot to live up to but suffice to say that she's performing as expected.
Bastos dethroned Danielle Kelly in the co-main event inside Lumpinee Stadium to become the new ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion.
Her performance, which saw her win a unanimous decision, didn't just earn her the 26 pounds of gold.
Bastos was also awarded a $50,000 performance bonus, which she gave her reaction to in her post-fight interview:

"I was really happy. I wasn't expecting to win a bonus. It was kind of a surprise, but a really good [surprise]."
Bastos was then asked whether she already had plans for how she would spend this surprise money.
Given all that she has accomplished in her career, it's understandable that the newly crowned world champion is more focused on setting herself up for the future over anything else:
"Right now, I don't know, but I want to invest it in something."

Mayssa Bastos was in good company at ONE Fight Night 24
Two stunning striking finishes rounded out the bonus winners for ONE Fight Night 24 alongside Mayssa Bastos.
Bastos' title win didn't end with a submission, but that was only because both women were so high level that they were able to constantly counter one another's attempts.
The other $50,000 rewards were given out earlier in the night, and Aliff Sor Dechapan earned his when he stopped Zakaria El Jamari in the opening round.
Another clear candidate to receive a bonus was Elias Mahmoudi, who capped off his display against Taiki Naito with a knockout of the year contender via a spinning back fist.
