Dante Leon explained why he signed with ONE Championship.
In late October, ONE Championship announced two new additions to their submission grappling divisions - Leon and Cole Abate. The world-class competitors strengthened the promotion's roster which already features Kade Ruotolo, Tye Ruotolo, Jozef Chen, Cleber Sousa, and more.
Leon recently appeared in an interview with ONE to discuss why he joined the promotion:
"I see ONE as being a really premier organization, between their presentation, between how they conduct themselves, and a big thing is the athletes that are there."

Leon was awarded his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by Vitor Oliveira and Julio Cesar Pereira. He last competed in early November, defeating Ellis Younger by unanimous decision at Polaris 30.
At 29 years old, Leon has proven himself on a global platform by claiming first place at the IBJJF No-Gi World Championship x2, IBJJF No-Gi Pans Championship x3, and IBJJF No-Gi American Nationals.
Leon now plans to strengthen his resume by claiming ONE gold.
Bruno Pucci looks to spoil Dante Leon's highly-anticipated ONE debut
On Dec. 6, promotional newcomers Dante Leon and Cole Abate will make their respective ONE Championship debuts at ONE Fight Night 26. Abate is scheduled to face Japanese legend Shinya Aoki, while Leon has been matched up against MMA specialist Bruno Pucci.
Pucci has competed in eleven MMA fights under the ONE banner, leading to a promotional record of 5-6. 'Puccibull' last fought in November 2022, suffering his third consecutive defeat due to a unanimous decision against Kirill Gorobets.
Pucci has an opportunity to start a fresh chapter in ONE. With a win against Leon, the Brazilian would quickly become a major player in the promotion's lightweight submission grappling division.
Leon plans to take out Pucci and take a significant step toward a lightweight title shot against Kade Ruotolo. There's also a chance Leon faces Abate next, assuming they both emerge victorious in their debuts.
ONE Fight Night 26 goes down inside the iconic combat sports venue of Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. Friday's event in Bangkok, Thailand, featuring two world title fights, can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
