Apart from being one of the most credentialed MMA fighters in the world, Aung La N Sang also takes great pride in being a hands-on father. One of the greatest lessons he passed on to his children is the character-building values that come only from immersing in martial arts.
While training in any combat sport already reaps plenty of benefits for their development, Aung La believes letting them use it in a competition setting is another helpful tool.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the former two-division MMA world champion advised his fellow parents not to be scared to push their kids to experience the thrill of tournaments:
"Parents often say, 'I don't really care how well they do in tournaments.' But it's a reflection of the hard work they put in."

Aung La N Sang also beamed with pride when he discussed his son and nephew's journey in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. 'The Burmese Python' continued:
"So I'm happy they're finally winning some tournaments and doing good. I know that winning these tournaments, it may not mean much, but to them, it's motivation. It keeps them motivated to keep training and keep getting better."
