Abdelali Zahidi believes 'constant pressure' will crack Marat Grigorian's defense open: "I'll be moving quickly"

Moroccan knockout merchant Abdelali Zahidi believes he has just the right strategy to overcome Armenian dynamo Marat Grigorian when they dance inside the ring at ONE Friday Fights 92.

'Black Diamond' returns to the global stage of ONE Championship for the second time to square off alongside the former ONE featherweight kickboxing world title challenger inside the Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, December 20.

Ahead of their 159-pound kickboxing tilt, the 25-year-old broke down his path to victory on fight night in Bangkok, Thailand. He told ONE Championship:

"My game plan is to apply constant pressure on him, and I'll be moving quickly and doing technical work to neutralize his fighting style and make it inefficient."

Should he overcome the striking specialist, Abdelali Zahidi will wrap his 2024 campaign under the ONE spotlight with a pristine 2-0 run.

He debuted in the world's largest martial arts organization with a second-round knockout win over Tun Min Aung at ONE Friday Fights 88 on November 22.

The debuting star battered his foe down with left kicks and right hands in the opening round, which forced the Burmese into offense in the second round.

Unfortunately, his eagerness to outwork the Moroccan led to his demise. The Tocayah Fight Club countered Tun Min Aung's overhand right with a high kick that instantly ended proceedings at 2:40 of the second round to move 25-4 in his career.

Beating Marat Grigorian will be no easy task for Abdelali Zahidi

Sneaking in a cracking head kick against someone of Marat Grigorian's caliber will be no easy task, of course.

Grigorian's heavy offense typically provides little to no opening for anyone. So Abdelali Zahidi will need to have a couple of backup plans while he finds his range and ways to dominate the tie.

Should he find his feet early and control the tempo of the match, a win is there for the taking for him. However, if the exact opposite unfolds, fans should be in for another trademark display from the No.2-ranked featherweight kickboxing warrior.
