Abdullah Mason vs. Yohan Vasquez at lightweight will serve as the featured undercard bout for the Top Rank boxing event this Friday (Nov. 8) at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Mason (15-0) is one of the rising young talents at 135 pounds. The 20-year-old has a penchant for knockouts and has claimed 13 of his wins via KO/TKO. A win this time around would get the American closer to the top 15 rankings.
Vasquez (26-5) is vastly more experienced than his younger foe but has been on a downtrend lately. 'La Fiera' is 2-3 in his last five, but most recently clinched a second-round TKO win over Kamil Laszczyk in May.

Round 1
Mason is flicking his jab, trying to measure the distance. Vasquez out of nowhere, throws a left hand, right at the button, and puts Mason down. The 20-year-old however survives the count.
As the fight restarts, he gets rocked by a right hand again. However, a determined Mason returns fire with an uppercut and gets back the knockdown, putting his opponent on the canvas.
'La Fiera' survives the count. Mason is going ballistic trying to end the fight, but Vasquez catches him on the counter with a short left hook, putting him on the canvas for a second time.
Mason survives the count and takes a more measured approach the rest of the round.
