Adrian Lee reflected on the inspiration he's received from his late sister.

On June 7, Lee made his ONE Championship/MMA debut in a lightweight bout at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs Nattawut II. The 18-year-old younger brother of promotional legends Christian Lee and Angela Lee made a massive statement by securing a second-round submission against Antonio Mammarella.

Lee's impressive performance was a breath of fresh air for him and his family, who continue to recover from the tragic passing of Victoria Lee. During an interview with Today Online, 'The Phenom' had this to say about how fighting has helped him deal with the devastating situation relating to his older sister:

"I stay motivated and focused by staying in the gym. As long as I'm training, there are no other thoughts... My sister Victoria has inspired me in all (aspects) of life, and she'll continue to walk by my side throughout my journey."

Christian Lee and Angela Lee's fighting careers have been affected differently by their younger sister's passing. Angela decided to vacate her ONE women's atomweight MMA world title and retire. Meanwhile, Christian has confirmed he will return later this year and defend his ONE lightweight and welterweight titles.

Adrian Lee destined to overtake Christian Lee's ONE lightweight throne

Adrian Lee's promotional debut win at lightweight provided further reason for fans to believe he's a future world champion. That said, the 18-year-old won't be fighting for ONE gold for the foreseeable future, as he must continue to impress while facing a step-up in competition.

Once 'The Phenom' reaches the top, Christian Lee might have to vacate his throne unless another top contender defeats him. Before fighting at ONE 167, Adrian confirmed that he refuses to fight his brother, who has been a significant factor in his journey to becoming a top prospect.

For now, Adrian and Christian have nothing to worry about, as the former looks to evolve as a fighter and the latter looks to remain on top. The replay of Lee's performance at ONE 167 can be seen by North American viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
