Adrian Lee and his team know that in his scheduled match this week, he also has to deal with the conditions present in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A.'s elevated topography. It is something he said they have prepared for and are ready to take on.
In an interview on the 4oz to Freedom podcast ahead of his lightweight MMA match against hometown bet Nico Cornejo at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6, 18-year-old Lee shared that elevation training was incorporated in his preparation, as they believe it will play a factor come fight night.
"Yeah, me and my team have been implementing some elevation training and we're planning to go early to get some elevation training in."

In Denver for ONE 168, Adrian Lee is seeking to earn his second straight victory after a highly successful promotional debut back in June. He announced himself with a second-round submission victory over Antonio Mammarella of Australia.
Like in his maiden outing as a professional, Lee is aided in training by his brother and double ONE world champion (lightweight and welterweight) Christian Lee.
Standing in his way this time around is Pueblo, Colorado native Cornejo, 35, a noted wrestler, who is making his first appearance in ONE Championship.
ONE 168: Denver will take place at the Ball Arena in the 'Mile High City'. It will air live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase on Ticketmaster.
Adrian Lee taking professional journey one fight at a time
Adrian Lee is happy and excited to have kickstarted his professional journey in ONE Championship on a winning note. However, he is not getting ahead of himself, choosing to take it one fight a time as he establishes a firmer footing in his push.
He spoke about this mindset during the same podcast episode ahead of his scheduled match against Nico Cornejo at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6, highlighting how he is being guided by his team. That includes his father Ken, as well as older brother and ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion Christian Lee.
The teen phenom said:
"I don't really know right now [if I am ready to compete at the top level]. However, I'm taking it fight by fight. But whatever my dad, my brother, my head coaches think I'm ready, I'll take it on."
Adrian Lee is the latest member of his family to be competing in ONE Championship after Christian, former atomweight MMA queen and now-retired Angela, and late fighter Victoria.
