First-ranked ONE Championship flyweight MMA contender and former divisional king 'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes of Brazil says being a world champion is more than just wearing a gaudy belt around the waist. It's about inspiring people and changing lives.

The 36-year-old veteran from the American Top Team gym believes he is on the warpath back to ONE Championship gold, and when he retakes the flyweight MMA throne, Moraes says he wants to motivate his people to a better life.

Speaking as a guest on Party Starter Radio, Moraes shared his thoughts on what it means to be a world champion.

Moraes said:

"Sometimes, as a young fighter, you always want to win, I want to knock this guy out. And that’s the correct mindset, ‘I want to keep my belt, I want to change lives around me with my fists.’ Because when you are a World Champion, and the lives of the people you changed too, then you are a good World Champion."

'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes is set to run it back with no.3-ranked 'The King' Danny Kingad of the Philippines in a highly anticipated rematch years in the making.

The two lock horns at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video, which broadcasts live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Nov. 8.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda MMA for all the latest news and updates surrounding the event as it happens.

Adriano Moraes says all fights are chaotic and unpredictable: "The emotions during the fight are crazy"

'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes believes it's very difficult to predict how a fight ends because, in this sport, anything can happen in the blink of an eye.

The highly volatile nature of the fight game allows for some pretty dramatic moments, and Moraes knows all too well that a victory is not in any way guaranteed.

He told Party Starter Radio:

"It’s hard to say because in a fight, you train hard, and you can have the best fight camp ever. But in a fight, it’s always 50/50. The emotions during the fight are crazy. Fighters have different behaviors during this time."
