Adriano Moraes believes it will be difficult to repeat history when he runs it back against third-ranked Danny Kingad at ONE 169.

The former ONE flyweight MMA world champion and current top-ranked superstar meets the Filipino firecracker in a three-round duel that will be part of the promotion's return to Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on Nov. 8.

Though he has experience in beating 'The King,' the American Top Team and Constrictor Team martial artist says it'll be unwise to think that Kingad will be the same fighter he defeated via submission back in November 2017.

In an interview with Combate, Adriano Moraes stressed how the sport and athletes over the years have evolved, adding that it will be no different on fight night:

"Regardless of whether it's the same athlete or not, it's not like I said, right, we evolved a lot, right? The sport evolves a lot, right? Every week the sport is evolving. You can see that many things we did back then, nowadays, it doesn't work as well anymore."

The winner of Adriano Moraes-Danny Kingad could lay claim to vacant flyweight gold

Given Adriano Moraes' (1) and Kingad's (3) ranking in the division, the winner of this fight could go on to duke it out for the ONE flyweight MMA world title that was vacated by Demetrious Johnson following his retirement at ONE 168: Denver last month.

The pair have enjoyed successful stints under the ONE banner, and have proven time and time again why they are the very best there is in the 135-pound division.

Moraes and Kingad may head into this fixture off defeats, but with the 26 pounds of gold there for the taking, there's no better time for them to register an impressive display on the global stage of the promotion.

With so much on the line, expect both superstars to go for broke when they lock horns inside the Mecca of Muay Thai on Nov. 8.
