Ahmed Mujtaba warns Sage Northcutt: “I’m not an easy guy to fight”

At ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, Ahmed Mujtaba will compete in the biggest fight of his career to date thanks to the opponent and the stage for the contest.

On May 5, ONE Championship will make history by hosting its first event in the United States. Live from the 1stBank Center in Colorado, the promotion is bringing a stacked event with some of their roster’s biggest names.

Fans were particularly surprised to see that after four long years away from competition, Sage Northcutt will return on this card. Ahmed Mujtaba has the pleasure of welcoming him back to the circle.

After such a long time away from competition, ‘Super’ Sage would’ve been forgiven for easing back into the swing of things but that is not the case at ONE Fight Night 10.

Having won back-to-back fights inside the first round, Mujtaba is looking to spoil Northcutt’s welcome home party. In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:

“He’s going to be afraid as well. I’m not an easy guy to fight against because I need the win as well, because I’m hungry for the win, too.”

Ahmed Mujtaba expects ‘hungry’ Sage Northcutt

Ahead of his huge fight at ONE Fight Night 10, Ahmed Mujtaba is expecting his opponent to step inside the circle with added motivation to get the win.

On May 5, he will take on the returning Sage Northcutt in the biggest fight of his career to date. After four years away from the circle, Sage Northcutt has a point to prove when he faces ‘Wolverine’ in Colorado.

Northcutt has a lot of time to make up for after a tough few years in his career. After his highly anticipated ONE Championship debut ended in rapid fashion, ‘Super’ Sage was forced to take time away from competition to recover from his injuries.

Not only did he need surgery due to facial fractures, ‘Super’ Sage also went through a bout with COVID-19 that further delayed his return.

With all that in mind, his opponent on his return is well aware that Northcutt will come into this fight absolutely chomping at the bit to put on a show and get his hand raised after being unable to do the thing he loves for such a long time.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Ahmed Mujtaba lined out exactly what he expects from Northcutt on May 5:

“He’s going to be hungry because last time he got knocked out.”
