Tang Kai's road to becoming a ONE featherweight MMA world champion is as good as it gets. However, unbeaten Kyrgyzstani talent Akbar Abdullaev begs to differ.
The Al Munar Team and Tiger Muay Thai's confidence is at its peak as he looks to unseat the Chinese fighter from his throne in the main event of ONE Fight Night 27 on Jan. 10.
To prepare himself for a crowning moment inside Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, Abdullaev has done a thorough study on Tang's arsenal.

Though there is praise reserved for some of Tang's world-class attributes, the Kyrgyz warrior admits the divisional king doesn't bring anything out of the ordinary in his fights.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Akbar Abdullaev shared:
"I think Tang Kai is a cool-headed and experienced fighter, but I don't see anything surprising."
While many would think otherwise, given the featherweight king's spotless 8-0 run in the promotion, Abdullaev has the perfect chance to back up his statement on fight night.
The 27-year-old, after all, has been in top form since joining the promotional roster in 2023 with a trio of knockout victories against Oh Ho Taek, Aaron Canarte, and Halil Amir.
His knockout power and savviness on the ground could well produce another statement display inside the Thai capital as he seeks to complete his dream of becoming an MMA world champion on the global stage.
Tang Kai confident he'll end Akbar Abdullaev's unbeaten run
Like Akbar Abdullaev, Tang Kai doesn't lack any faith in his abilities come ONE Fight Night 27.
The Sunkin International Fight Club standout is adamant he'll end this world title tilt one way or the other and become the first fighter to register a loss in his opposite number's resume.
He told the promotion separately:
"I want to finish this fight by KO. But I'm also prepared for a five-round contest."
ONE Fight Night 27 will be available live in U.S. primetime for free to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
