Incoming challenger Alaverdi Ramazanov feels ready to become a Muay Thai world champion—and he's warning Nong-O Gaiyanghadao not to underestimate him ahead of their title fight at ONE Friday Fights 1.
The Russian striker is riding a two-fight winning streak, which includes a first-round knockout over Pongsiri P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym. However, he's facing an opponent who has never lost inside the circle, going a perfect 9-0.
Still, Ramazanov believes the champ will make a big mistake if he underestimates him. 'Babyface Killer' told ONE:
"If he is trying to compare me to Liam, he is making a very big mistake."

Alaverdi Ramazanov added, saying:
"Because mentally I am a different type of a fighter, I hail from Dagestan. Also, I am supercharged right now for this fight."
It's going to take a prolific performance to snatch the belt away from Nong-O, as he's in the midst of a four-fight knockout streak.
Alaverdi Ramazanov says he's hungrier than Nong-O
The 28-year-old challenger is hungry to get his hands on another world title after relinquishing his bantamweight kickboxing title to Capitan Petchyindee.
Ramazanov eventually avenged his loss to Capitan, leading him to receive a Muay Thai title shot against Nong-O. He believes that he's entering the match as the more driven fighter, telling ONE:
"I believe that Nong-O is my most dangerous opponent, but at the same time, I am aware that I am a more dangerous opponent for him if you compare me with his previous opponents. I’m younger than him, I’m more aggressive, and I have something he doesn’t have anymore: hunger. I’m sure that’s why I’ll win and take the title away from him."
A competitor under ONE's banner since 2018, Ramazanov has experienced ups and downs. The striker began his tenure just 2-2 before winning four of his next five bouts en route to the upcoming title fight. Fans should expect a war.
Be sure to tune in to ONE Friday Fights 1 on January 20 to watch Alaverdi Ramazanov challenge the great Nong-O for the bantamweight Muay Thai crown.
