Alex Pereira next fight: All the facts ahead of Pereira's UFC 281 clash against Israel Adesanya

A lot has been made of Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya's kickboxing feud, with the two fighters competing twice during their professional kickboxing careers. Pereira famously knocked out Adesanya in their most recent kickboxing contest and won via decision in their first outing.

Both men have successfully transitioned into the MMA world, but are yet to meet under MMA rules. The two fighters will clash at UFC 281, but Adesanya holds a lot more experience in MMA.

Adesanya currently has a 23-1 record in professional MMA, only losing to Jan Błachowicz at UFC 259 when attempting to step-up in weight class. Alex Pereira has a professional record of 6-1 and lost his debut against Quemuel Ottoni back in 2015.

'Poatan' has beaten the likes of Andreas Michailidis, Bruno Silva and Sean Strickland since joining the UFC in 2021. As mentioned, Israel Adesanya has a lot more high-level experience in MMA. Nearly all of his UFC outings coming against the best opponents possible. The New Zealander's last three opponents speak for themselves, taking on the likes of Jared Cannonier, Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori.

Alex Pereira and Adesanya are very evenly matched in terms of size, with both fighters standing at 6'4" tall and also have a 203cm reach. The Brazilian is two years older than 'The Last Stylebender'.

UFC 281: Adesanya vs. Pereira will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 12th. The co-main event is scheduled to be a strawweight championship bout between Carla Esparza and Weili Zhang.
