The UFC 311 bout between Prochazka and Hill aimed to re-insert their names in the light heavyweight title picture after their losses to Pereira in recent bouts. Prochazka scored an early knockdown and appeared to be landing the more impactful strikes, which was evident from his opponent's reactions and cosmetic damage.
Although Hill managed to connect with a few body shots in the late second round, Prochazka continued to pressure and ultimately secured a TKO finish in the third round.
Prochazka was coming off a second-round knockout loss to Pereira at UFC 303, while Hill suffered a first-round KO defeat at the hands of 'Poatan' at UFC 300.
Although the UFC has not yet made an official announcement, Pereira will likely face No.1-ranked Magomed Ankalaev next. Following his victory, Prochazka expressed a desire to fight Pereira in a trilogy bout. While Pereira won the rematch at UFC 303 decisively, their first encounter at UFC 295 was a closely contested matchup.
Pereira, who defeated Khalil Rountree Jr. to secure his third light heavyweight title defense at UFC 307, has also expressed interest in a super fight against heavyweight champion Jon Jones. However, recent reports have indicated that Jones has been considering retirement from professional MMA competition.
