Alex Pereira's younger sister Aline Pereira attempted to follow in her brother's footsteps as she made her MMA debut last night. She has competed in kickboxing since 2017, with a record of 6-2.
Pereira fought Helen Peralta at LFA 147, an experienced combat sports athlete who has competed in both MMA and Bareknuckle boxing. Peralta proved to have too much experience for the Brazilian and won the fight via a decision.
Several highlights from the fight were posted on Twitter and showed that both fighters had their moments in the bout. Pereira dropped Peralta in the second round before getting knocked down in the final frame.

Alex Pereira will no doubt be proud of his sister's efforts. His sister Aline will know that this is merely the beginning of her journey. After all, 'Poatan' himself lost his first professional MMA fight before going on to become the UFC world champion.
Aline Pereira's kickboxing background will stand her in good stead should she pursue a career in MMA. With former UFC light heavyweight world champion Glover Teixeira as her coach, Pereira is learning from one of the most well-rounded fighters in MMA.
Alex Pereira claims he has watched the fight with Israel Adesanya 17 times
Alex Pereira defied the odds and defeated Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 last weekend. 'Poatan' was crowned the new king of the middleweight division after knocking 'The Last Stylebender' out in the fifth round.
Adesanya's wealth of experience in MMA compared to Pereira made no difference on the night. 'Poatan' landed a series of powerful punches that forced the referee to intervene with just two minutes left in the fight, ending Adesanya's dominant title reign.
Alex Pereira posted a video of the fight on Instagram and claimed to have watched it 17 times. He also acknowledged the improvements he will need to make to ensure his championship reign continues. The Brazilian captioned his Instagram post:
"I've seen this fight exactly 17 times, many things to fix and innovate."
