Alex Pereira recently voiced his opinion about an Instagram post claiming that he could knock out unified heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk.
Pereira has showcased his formidable striking prowess both inside the kickboxing ring and in the MMA cage. The Brazilian boasted a plethora of KO victories in both sports even before he entered the UFC. But most of his UFC rivals also found his power too much to handle.
'Poatan's UFC stats bear testimony to his incredible KO-prowess as he has earned seven out of his nine UFC victories via a KO/TKO. His last fight at UFC 307 had him putting on another display of his striking mastery as he secured a fourth-round TKO victory against Khalil Rountree Jr.
A recent Instagram post pulled Pereira in comparison with Oleksandr Usyk, questioning fans whether 'Poatan' had enough to knock 'The Cat' out in a fight.

"Chama 🔥"
Alex Pereira's striking prowess is also respected by Khamzat Chimaev
The rumors of a potential fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Pereira are currently sparking a lot of discussions in the MMA community. Even Chimaev's previous rival and former middleweight champ, Robert Whittaker, recently weighed in on a potential Pereira vs. Chimaev encounter.
However, Chimaev had always been eager for this matchup. The Chechen-born fighter also gave his take on how the matchup might play out in an interview with Michael Bisping before his UFC 308 encounter. Despite being confident in his abilities, Chimaev couldn't help but appreciate Pereira's top-notch striking. 'Borz' said:
"I've always been open for that [fighting Alex Pereira]. I know stylistically this match for me is much easier than other guys. But in striking, I'm honest. I know the guy can knock me out, you know? He knocks out everyone. I know the guy is a good striker. One of the best, has the hardest punches."
