Alex Pereira sister: Who is Aline Pereira and does she fight?

While Alex Pereira is busy preparing for his UFC 281 clash against Israel Adesanya, his sister Aline has also recently made headlines. Aline Pereira has signed for respected MMA organization LFA, and also has a history in kickboxing.

The 31-year-old is making a somewhat late transition into professional MMA. However her brother has proven that you can still have a successful career in the sport despite turning pro at a later date.

Pereira's sister is scheduled to face Helen Peralta at LFA 147: Melo vs. Costa on November 18th. Peralta has a 5-3 professional MMA record, and will likely prove to be a tough test on the Brazilian's debut.

Alex Pereira's sister also fought under the Glory Kickboxing banner, competing three times in the kickboxing organization. Aline Pereira has a 2-1 record in Glory Kickboxing, only losing to Tiffany Van Soest at Glory 77 in a championship bout. Van Soest beat the Brazilian via unanimous decision. Pereira's sister defeated Crystal Lawson and Chommanee Sor Taehiran in her other two Glory outings.

Aline Pereira has a professional kickboxing record of 6 wins and 2 losses. Elaine Lopes is the only other woman to defeat Pereira, also via unanimous decision. The Brazilian will be looking to start her professional MMA career well on her LFA debut and may transition into the UFC one day.

Did Alex Pereira compete in LFA before joining the UFC?

Yes. Alex Pereira had one bout under the LFA banner, taking on Thomas Powell in November 2020. Pereira managed to beat the American in the very first round, stopping his opponent in his tracks via a perfect hook.

After a successful outing in LFA, the Brazilian joined the UFC and made his debut against Andreas Michailidis at UFC 268. Aline Pereira, the UFC fighter's sister, has also joined LFA and will likely be hoping to follow in her brother's footsteps.

Alex Pereira's next outing in the UFC will see him take on current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. The former kickboxing foes will meet once again at UFC 281 later this month in what will likely be a fight of the year contender in New York.
