Alex Pereira may set sail towards an all-new journey, as recent reports revealed that 'Poatan' is in negotiations about making his silver-screen debut. It is the coveted 'Godzilla vs. Kong' director, Adam Wingard, who has showcased interest in casting Pereira in one of his upcoming films.

Pereira had his last in-octagon encounter at UFC 307 on Oct. 6 this year. His rival, Khalil Rountree Jr. showcased a lot more resistance than his previous title defense rivals. 'The War Horse' even knocked Pereira down once in the second round of the fight.

However, Pereira started taking control of the fight from the beginning of the fourth round as he sensed the depletion in Rountree's gas tank. The former middleweight champ finished the fight via a TKO in the same round after flooring his rival with strikes.

However, a recent report from 'Hollywoodreporter' revealed that Pereira might venture into Hollywood soon as the bad guy in Wingard's upcoming movie, 'Onslaught'. The 36-year-old is set to appear opposite Adria Arijona in the action thriller by the 'Death Note' director.

Currently, the authorities don't want to reveal much about the film, but, the report also mentioned that Pereira's character will be called The Butcher. It will feature some of his destructive moves, including anaconda chokes and roundhouse kicks.

Alex Pereira is pretty clear about the timeline for his return to the octagon

Alex Pereira has topped all other UFC champions in terms of his activity rate. The date of his UFC 295 fight against Jiri Prochazka reveals that he has taken to the octagon four times within a year.

But he has made up his mind about taking a break now. Pereira appeared on a recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show along with his coach Plinio Cruz, where he revealed that he would like to make his comeback to the octagon in March:

"Ideally, he [Pereira] would fight around June, it would be ideal, but he would maybe like to fight around March, even. But honestly, say, if it were up to him, he'll fight in December right now. But the problem is these two fights happened too soon, and we had a lot of appearances, a lot of trips, a lot of business to do. And we had to push them for after these two fights because they were scheduled for before. The guys who organized it understood, but we have some obligations to do so he feels that around March is a good date."
