Alex Pereira recently teamed up with mentor and training partner Glover Teixeira for a mock Power Slap training session. The skit he shared on Instagram shows Pereira hilariously wobbled by Teixeira's slap.
While the video is a lighthearted take on the controversial Power Slap league, some fans couldn’t resist weaving it into the alleged narrative of Pereira avoiding a fight with Magomed Ankalaev. Pereira has been accused of evading Ankalaev's challenge despite the Russian's 13-fight unbeaten streak. The narrative has gained traction as Ankalaev’s manager Ali Abdelaziz recently issued a stern warning that the No.1 ranked lightweight contender is confident that he can knock out Pereira.

Islam Makhachev's manager claims that the Dagestani can beat Alex Pereira
UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has received the backing from his manager Ali Abdelaziz to dominate across divisions. Abdelaziz believes Makhachev, who defends his title against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 311, can outclass champions in welterweight, middleweight, and even light heavyweight.
Shedding light on a matchup with light heavyweight king Alex Pereira, Abdelaziz decisively overlooked the 50-pound weight advantage. He confidently predicted that Makhachev could overcome Pereira’s size and knockout power, relying on his grappling proficiency.
Speaking in an interview with MMA Junkie, Abdelaziz said:
“Arman is an absolute beast, he’s very tough. I think Arman will be a champion, but I don’t think it’s now. It’s not his time. He’s young. I don’t think any man from 155lbs to 185lbs can beat Islam Makhachev. It doesn’t exist. I believe 155, 170, 185, I think Islam can beat anybody on any given day. This is what I believe in because of what he’s shown me, the development, the improvement. I think Islam will beat Alex Pereira at 205, I do. I swear to Allah."
