Volkanovski is in Abu Dhabi for UFC 308, where the Australian is doing media work for the promotion and his YouTube channel. The former featherweight champion will also be keeping a close eye on the main event, as Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway will fight it out for the 145-pound title. 'The Great' is expected to face the winner upon his return to the octagon.

Ahead of the pay-per-view this Saturday, Volkanovski shared a video on his Instagram which showed him getting up to mischief behind the scenes. He first shared a teaser of the video on his story, jokingly expressing his anger at MMA media. He wrote:

Ilia Topuria rules out facing Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 312

Ilia Topuria is set to make his first featherweight title defense this weekend when he faces Max Holloway at UFC 308. Alexander Volkanovski will be in attendance tonight and is planning on making his return to the cage against the winner in Australia.

The promotion returns to Sydney, Australia, in February 2025 for UFC 312. While Volkanovski hopes to face the winner of this weekend's clash there next, Ilia Topuria isn't so keen.

Speaking at the UFC 308 media day, 'El Matador' stated that should he defeat Holloway, he won't hand Volaknovski an advantage by rematching him in front of his home fans. He said:

"If that makes him feel happy thinking that, maybe, I will go to Australia, that's okay, but in myself, that's never going to happen. I am the champion and if you want to fight for the title again, it has to be in Madrid instead of fighting in Australia in front of your people. Why would I want to give you that advantage?"
