Alistair Overeem says "extremist left" has persuaded his daughter to reconsider her gender identity: "I'm not going to call her a he"

UFC veteran Alistair Overeem doesn't subscribe to self-gender affirmation ideologies of the LGBTQI+. Despite his daughter, Storm Overeem, choosing to identify herself as a man, 'The Demolition Man' has made it clear that he would not follow such "woke" agendas.

During a recent episode of the JAXXON podcast, the 44-year-old was discussing his daughter with his fellow fighters when he proclaimed that it was excessive exposure to leftist agendas that made his elder daughter reconsider her gender identity.

Overeem suspects the overwhelming time Storm spends on her smartphone and other electronic devices is what made her susceptible to such narratives. Elaborating on the topic, the former Strikeforce heavyweight champion said:

"There is a problem with the oldest though, she thinks she is my son... She is all into this woke nonsense... If it was not sad, it would be funny actually. So why? Addicted to her phone, she is being brainwashed basically, six-seven-eight hours a day, [with ideas like] how you feel you are, you can be what you want to be. This extremist left."

Talking about how he copes with his daughter's newfound identity, Overeem added:

"Patience, compassion, learning in that department, but I'm not going to call her a he. That's just not [in me]. I'm a fighter. I will always fight. I'm not going to go into this, I just don't believe that."

The MMA star clarified that, despite their differences in perspectives, he plans to be there for his daughter. As 'The Demolition Man' sees it, his inadequate involvement during Storm's childhood might have made her receptive to her current ideology.

Overeem has voiced anti-LGBTQI+ sentiments in the past as well.

Alistair Overeem doesn't have any respect for the new-age WWE superstars. As the ex-UFC fighter sees it, pro wrestling isn't a legitimate sport.

Talking to Ariel Helwani on a segment of The MMA Hour, the former UFC heavyweight title challenger claimed that he stopped watching WWE in the mid-90s. While the MMA star tried to get back into it recently, he was not too pleased.

Overeem elaborated:

"I watched it when I was 18-19 years old, Hulk Hogan, [The] Ultimate Warrior, huge fan of those guys, [The] Honky Tonk Man, great, funny, Andre the Giant. I stopped watching after that... I started looking again on YouTube and oh my god, this stuff is lame. It's just lame what all these guys are doing. It's fake, it's lame, it's stupid, it's g*y, it doesn't make any sense."
