Sterling recently defeated former champion T.J. Dillashaw by knockout in the second round at UFC 280. While 'Funk Master' successfully defended his title, Dillashaw's injuries hindered his performance, to the dismay of many.

Sterling's next assignment will be against former two-division champion Henry Cejudo, who is coming out of retirement. The fight is set to take place at UFC 288 on May 6 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Henry Cejudo dismisses Aljamain Sterling's accomplishments as a champion ahead of UFC 288

It seems like UFC 288 can't come soon enough for Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling, who has been going back and forth on every occasion their paths cross.

Daniel Cormier conducted an interview with both Cejudo and Sterling on ESPN MMA's DC & RC show for their upcoming clash. In a heated interview, the former two-division champion dismissed the accomplishments of the current bantamweight champion, both in terms of his title win and his title defenses:

"Hear me out, 'DC', he won the belt via Academy Award. He won the second fight [against Petr Yan] I don't know what it was, judges' guilt. And then he couldn't beat a guy I beat in 32 seconds on EPO and it took him freakin almost two rounds to get rid of him with one arm."

Cejudo boasted about his accomplishments and added:

"I beat Demetrious Johnson, I beat the greatest bantamweight of all time in Dominick Cruz, I beat a dude on EPOs, I got rid of Marlon Moraes who knocked him the hell out, who took him to the Neptunes, and guess what, 'DC', I'm actually even better."
