Aljamain Sterling recently referenced the 2017 documentary 'Icarus', after responding to a fan that was defending Petr Yan from doping accusations.
'Icarus', directed by Bryan Fogel, is a sports documentary that explored the world of doping in sports and ultimately played a key role in uncovering the scandal involving Russian athletes and their country's state-sponsored doping program.
'Funk Master' has been on something of a tirade on social media in recent weeks, accusing a host of fighters of using banned substances. His upcoming opponent, Movsar Evloev, has been facing most of the claims, however, Sterling turned his attention to Yan after a fan defended the Russian fighter for being clean.
According to the former UFC bantamweight champ, he feels it is his duty to call out anybody he has heard or knows has taken banned substances. Sterling also pleaded with the fan to watch the 'Icarus' documentary in his response, stating that there are many doctors who work with fighters that know how to get around drug testing.

He tweeted:
"Yes, I call out anyone I've heard or seen that has popped before. Please watch "Icarus" if you haven't yet. There are many doctors out there that are ahead of the testing. The testing agencies know this very well also. So the "He hasn't popped before" talk is all nonsense to me."

Aljamain Sterling weighs in on Muhammad Mokaev's UFC release
Aljamain Sterling is no stranger to having issues with the UFC brass. The former champ has often been criticized by Dana White for his fighting style as well as unwillingness to fight his close friend Merab Dvalishvili.
Given his experiences and dealings with those making the decision in the promotion, 'Funk Master' recently shared his thoughts on Muhammad Mokaev's release. The flyweight contender defeated Manel Kape at UFC 304 in Manchester back in July, but was swiftly told on the same night that he would be not offered a new UFC contract.
Rumors have since suggested there were multiple reasons as to why Mokaev wasn't re-signed, which include 'The Punisher' being difficult to work with and treating UFC staff poorly.
'Aljo' has since weighed in on the situation, offering his perspective as a fighter. Taking to X, he said:
"Here's some fighter perspective: No other promotion is paying him what he's making in the UFC right now. Not many high-level promotions have the 125-pound division. He shot himself in the foot with his actions and is trying to find a way to make it right at the expense of pride."
