Jonathan Haggerty is extremely confident in his world-class striking prowess. As such, the reigning bantamweight kickboxing world champion believes he could more than hold his own against arguably one of the most dynamic strikers in mixed martial arts, Conor McGregor.

In fact, 'The General' thinks he could take out the former two-division UFC champion if they figured in a hypothetical matchup.

Appearing on the Winners Talking Podcast, Haggerty unabashedly said he could outstrike the Irishman, regardless of it it's his past or present form:

"Yeah, prime Conor or old Conor. I reckon stand up, he's out. Stand up, all day long, it's me."

Jonathan Haggerty is indeed one of the most technically destructive strikers on the planet, as we've seen in his remarkable run in the home of martial arts.

The British knockout artist has deadly punches and kicks at his disposal, along with his signature tomahawk elbow that can put anyone to sleep.

While a cross-promotion showdown against McGregor seems highly unlikely, it's still quite interesting to visualize how these two would stack up in an all-striking battle.

'The Notorious' would certainly have the size advantage, while Haggerty could make up for it with his speed and reflexes.

Jonathan Haggerty says he'll reclaim Muay Thai belt when the time is right

After losing his bantamweight Muay Thai world championship in devastating fashion against Superlek Kiatmoo9, Jonathan Haggerty will shift his focus to defending his remaining belt.

While the former two-sport kingpin will prioritize kickboxing, he's not giving up on returning to his place at the top of the 145-pound Muay Thai division.

Haggerty said in an earlier interview with the Sky Sports MMA Club:

"I lost a belt before, I remember I was a lot more down than I am now. Because I know how hard I trained, how much I want it. So I know for sure I’ll definitely get that belt back, it’s just a matter of time."
