"All down to the game plan" - Jonathan Haggerty believes inevitable Superlek-Nico Carrillo showdown will be a tough one to call

Jonathan Haggerty prefers to sit on the fence when it comes to picking the winner of a potential ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title tilt between Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Nico Carrillo.

Of course, the Englishman sees a path to victory for both men should the fight come to fruition. But with a clash of styles and a lot of factors in play, 'The General' believes it'll be too hard for him to call his shot.

He had this to say during a recent appearance on the Sky Sports MMA Club Podcast on Spotify:

"We just have to wait and see. It's all down to the game plan."

For long, many were hyped for an all-UK showdown between Jonathan Haggerty versus Nico Carrillo for the 26 pounds of gold in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.

Unfortunately for the former, he fell short in his world title defense to Superlek at ONE 168: Denver. The Kiatmoo9 Gym man left the British superstar staring at the ceiling of the Ball Arena courtesy of a perfectly timed elbow at the 49-second mark of their main event joust.

Meanwhile, with Nico Carrillo on a roll of four back-to-back knockouts on the global stage against Furkan Karabag, Muangthai PK Saenchai, Nong-O Hama, and Saemapetch Fairtex, many believe 'King of the North' will be Superlek's first test as the divisional king.

Jonathan Haggerty doesn't make much of what online trolls have to say about him

Being someone who is always on a mission to improve, Jonathan Haggerty has the perfect response to the critics who were quick to write him off following his sub-minute KO defeat to Superlek in The Mile High City last month.

In the same podcast appearance, he noted:

"I'm quite good at it, to be fair [handling trolls]. I can laugh it off. Like I said, I've been at the top before. I've done the hard fights. I've proved myself time and time again."
