Allycia Hellen Rodrigues eyes Janet Todd’s kickboxing belt after Muay Thai unification

ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues doesn’t just want one match against double-world champion Janet Todd.

Rodrigues will try to capture undisputed status when she takes on Todd, the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world champion, in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. The event is set for US primetime this Friday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

During the card’s press conference, Rodrigues said that she’s laid out a two-part plan to become the undisputed atomweight Muay Thai queen and then try to snatch away Todd’s ONE atomweight kickboxing world title.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues said:

“Of course, I have that in my mind after winning this fight. I want to compete for the [atomweight] kickboxing belt against Janet Todd.”

Rodrigues, so far, has had just one match in ONE Championship, but that bout proved to be an instant gold rush for her.

The Brazilian star scored a split decision win over Thai megastar Stamp Fairtex for the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title that she’s now holding. She then took a leave of absence to give birth and take care of her son.

Todd, meanwhile, has taken up the mantle of representing the division by holding the interim gold. The American striker dominated Spanish star Lara Fernandez to capture the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world championship in July 2022.

‘JT’ is also on an unstoppable run of seven straight wins that began when she dismantled Wang Chin Long in May 2019 at ONE: Warriors of Light.

ONE Fight Night 8 is ONE Championship’s third Amazon card of the year and will be broadcast live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
