Allycia Hellen Rodrigues and 'JT' Janet Todd were previously booked for a world title unification bout. Unfortunately, it needed to be rescheduled.

The two strikers are now set to battle for the undisputed ONE women's atomweight Muay Thai world title at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. The event is set for March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

On the cancelation, America's Todd was forced to pull out of the match after falling ill and testing positive for COVID-19. The reigning atomweight Muay Thai queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues was disappointed but understands and feels no animosity over it.

Brazil's Rodrigues spoke to ONE Championship in an interview and explained:

"I was quite sad [when the fight was postponed], as I was feeling more than prepared and I was really looking forward to getting back in the ring."

Rodrigues' last bout was a win over Stamp Fairtex in 2020. She has not returned to action in the ONE circle as she gave birth to her son and spent time with her family.

She continued:

"But it wasn’t our moment and I always leave everything in God’s hands. It’s not Janet Todd’s fault that she tested positive, and it’s clear that our health has to come first."

Janet Todd currently holds the ONE atomweight kickboxing world title and recently earned the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world championship.

Janet Todd and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues are booked to unify the atomweight Muay Thai world titles at ONE Fight Night 8. All the action on the card will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is fighting for her family

While the reigning ONE atomweight Muay Thai queen has not seen action in the ONE circle since 2020, she has discovered newfound motivation by raising her son.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues spoke to ONE Championship in an interview and explained:

“Now I’m stronger because I fight for myself and for my son. I want him to be proud of me. Whenever I look at him, I have a lot of strength to go even further. I know what I’m doing will be very worthwhile for us and for our future.”

By holding ONE gold, all the sacrifice has been worth it. The Brazilian striker continued:

“Every drop of sweat, pain, and tiredness that I felt in my body, every moment I lost with my son, all this was worth it. Then it will be just joy with the result of my work.”
