Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is ready to take on a new challenge after her triumphant return to the circle on Friday night.

The reigning ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion reestablished herself as the top dog of the division with a dominant five-round performance against interim titleholder Janet Todd in the ONE Fight Night 8 co-main event.

Keeping her Muay Thai title intact, Rodrigues is now turning her attention to the last piece of ONE gold hanging around Todd’s waist: the ONE atomweight kickboxing crown:

“It will be a new challenge for me, and I want a new challenge,” Rodrigues said in a ONE Fight Night 8 post-fight interview. “And I promise I'm going to show a better version of myself this time.”

Despite coming out on top at ONE Fight Night 8, Rodrigues was quite critical of her performance, citing ring rust from a two-and-a-half-year layoff during the pregnancy and birth of her son.

Most fans would agree that Rodrigues didn’t appear to miss a beat in her return to the circle. Nevertheless, if Rodrigues believes she was less than her best on Friday night, we can’t wait to see what she brings to the cage in her next outing.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues could be facing back-to-back rematches

We all know by now that Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is ready to take Janet Todd’s ONE atomweight kickboxing crown when she returns to the circle later this year, but that may not be the only rematch awaiting her.

ONE fan favorite Stamp Fairtex has her eyes on challenging Rodrigues for the Muay Thai title nearly three years removed from their first meeting at ONE: A New Breed in August 2020:

"I would like to start with a couple of fights first because in my weight class, there are a lot of really, really good Muay Thai fighters,” Stamp told the South China Morning Post. “And then I would like to also fight Allycia [Hellen Rodrigues] for the belt."

When Stamp Fairtex made her promotional debut, she scored the ONE atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing titles in back-to-back bouts. She also lost them in back-to-back contests, with one of them coming against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in an unforgettable war.

Fans have been chomping at the bit to see these two female warriors throw hands inside the circle one more time. If the stars align just right and both are healthy, we may very well see that happen before the year is up.
