At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues makes her return to the circle.
After making her ONE Championship debut in 2020 and shocking the world by dethroning Stamp Fairtex, the Brazilian revealed that she would be taking some time away from the sport due to the birth of her first child.
In her absence, atomweight kicking world champion Janet Todd has claimed the interim Muay Thai world title, setting up a huge unification between the two women.
Whilst she has been gone for a long time, fans have been eagerly anticipating Rodrigues’ return after the performance she delivered on her debut.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues spoke about where she believes she holds an advantage in this fight:
“I feel very comfortable with my elbow and kicking game because it's something I can do really well. But I've also been working a lot on my boxing.”
Unsurprisingly, given both women’s backgrounds, Janet Todd believes that if she can keep this contest at kickboxing range, she holds the advantage.
The fight is sure to produce a great clash of styles when Rodrigues and Todd finally meet on March 24 in Singapore. ONE Fight Night 8 airs live and free for North American viewers via Prime Video.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues admits to feeling anxious ahead of circle return
Whilst Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is confident that she has the skills to defeat Janet Todd on March 24, she has admitted that she is feeling somewhat anxious ahead of the fight.
After winning the atomweight Muay Thai world championship on her ONE Championship debut against Stamp Fairtex, Rodrigues announced shortly after that she would be taking a break from competition to give birth to her first child.
The Brazilian was scheduled to return nearly two years on from her ONE Championship debut at ONE on Prime Video 5 to unify the Muay Thai world championships against interim titleholder Janet Todd.
After Todd tested positive for COVID-19 the fight was pushed back, keeping Allycia Hellen Rodrigues on the sidelines longer than she would’ve wanted.
Now finally set to make her return in Singapore on March 24, Rodrigues can’t deny that she is feeling the nerves after being gone for such a long time. In an interview with ONE Championship, she said:
“I certainly had more time to work on some things and improve others that I already felt comfortable doing. Anxiety is part of it, right? It's been a long time since my last fight, so the desire to fight is getting stronger. And I try to put that desire more and more into each training session.”
