Khabib Nurmagomedov’s recent promotional involvement with the "Halal” online investment platform, Wahed, has sparked mixed reactions from his fans. The former UFC lightweight champion promoted Wahed as a way to keep investments Shariah-compliant while claiming it’s an easy way to avoid interest and make investments that align with Islamic principles. The platform promotes itself as an ethical way to build wealth without compromising faith.
However, fans have been quick to criticize the former champion, accusing him of being involved in another potentially exploitative venture. Some have called it a scam, referencing past controversies like his promotion of an NFT collection in partnership with GoMining. At the time, 'The Eagle' was accused by Coffeezilla, an American YouTuber and cryptocurrency journalist, of scamming his followers. The NFT venture, which promised to allow holders to mine Bitcoin, was criticized as another questionable business move by the retired fighter.
Nurmagomedov took to X to promote the investment platform and wrote:
"Keeping your Money Halal is easy with Wahed. Whether you want to invest in stocks, gold or property, it's time to Keep it Halal with Wahed. We know how hard it can be to avoid interest in a society where we are surrounded by it. But together, we can reshape the future of finance — one that’s fairer, transparent, and built on trust."

Khabib Nurmagomedov doubles down on Irish MMA criticism
Khabib Nurmagomedov reignited controversy by doubling down on his recent comments about Irish MMA. During an interview with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), the Russian dismissed Ireland’s talent pool, arguing that Dagestan produces superior fighters.
His remarks have sparked backlash from fans and fighters, including former UFC fighter Darren Till, who disagreed with Nurmagomedov's assessment. Despite the criticism, 'The Eagle' remains firm in his belief that Dagestani fighters are better skilled and successful in competition. He took to X and wrote:
"You can say whatever you want, but if we’re talking about facts, you can’t compare Irish fighters with fighters from Dagestan. We dominate amateur MMA, and it’s not even close—not just compared to Irish fighters but the whole world. I’m absolutely confident that if we were to organize a team vs. team matchup, Dagestan would defeat a world team in amateur MMA."
