Alyona Rassohyna won't force her children to pursue martial arts: "I want them to follow their own path"

Alyona Rassohyna has worked incredibly hard to get to where she is in her career, but the path has not been easy.

She knows how much she has had to sacrifice to reach this stage and though she is proud of what she has accomplished, she doesn't necessarily want the same for her children.

Martial artists are often motivated to pursue this career in order to create a better life for their loved ones.

It's an incredibly difficult pursuit, and with that in mind, Alyona Rassohyna wants her children to decide for themselves what path they want to take in life.

The Ukrainian is currently in the final steps of preparation for the biggest fight of her career to date where she will face Denice Zamboanga for the ONE interim atomweight world championship at ONE Fight Night 27.

Ahead of the fight inside Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, she spoke in a recent interview with ONE Championship about how being a role model is less important to her than setting her kids up for life as best as she can:

"I don't want to be an icon for my children to imitate. I want them to follow their own path. My specific task is to give them the right to choose, provide them with a decent education, instill moral values, and values that they will follow, including love for family. Everything else is their decision, who they want to be."

Alyona Rassohyna has the opportunity to inspire

Whilst being a role model may not be her primary goal, Alyona Rassohyna can still become an inspirational figure by achieving more success in her career.

Beating Zamboanga at Lumpinee Stadium on Jan. 10 would be a massive moment for her career.

These kinds of victories mean far more than any regular win because she could be leaving Bangkok with the interim gold wrapped around her waist.
