The winner of Alyse Anderson vs. Stamp Fairtex gets a title shot? That's what Stamp is eyeing
Both Alyse Anderson and Stamp Fairtex are aiming for world title shots against current women's atomweight queen Angela Lee. In fact, Stamp told SCMP MMA that she believes she's in line for a title shot with a win at ONE Fight Night 10. She stated:
“I think that BJJ is a very important thing to learn against Angela Lee and I’ve learned a lot of techniques,” Stamp said in an interview with SCMP MMA. “She’s [Angela] a black belt and [I’m] right now a purple belt. So there’s a lot of technique that I need to learn.”
Stamp challenged Lee for atomweight gold after winning the Women's Atomweight MMA Grand Prix, but she lost by submission. She has been working to improve her grappling since that loss, which she'll likely need to get past Anderson.
Meanwhile, Anderson still hasn't cracked the top five at women's atomweight, so she'll likely need more than just a win over Stamp to earn a shot at Angela Lee. Still, a win over Stamp will go a long way for her world title hopes.
Be sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 to watch the women's atomweight showdown between Alyse Anderson and Stamp Fairtex, live from the soldout 1stBank Center in Colorado.
All of the action will be broadcast live and for free to Amazon Prime subscribers across North America.
