Amanda Serrano recently expressed her thoughts on Claressa Shields leaking their private conversation on social media. However, the former featherweight champion doesn't seem to mind, as she went on to show her respect for Shields.
Boxing Kingdom posted the screenshot of Shields' initial DMs with Serrano on X earlier today. They wrote:
''Claressa Shields has released screenshots of private messages that show Amanda Serrano recognises her as the GWOAT''
In the DMs, Shields urged Serrano to look after her health and mentioned that she was among the top Puerto Rican boxers currently competing. To which the latter replied:

''Thank you champ. There's a reason why you're the GWOAT it's because you are. No fu**ing one comes close second. Means the world to have you write me this. It takes a star to lift the fallen. I love you.''
Serrano instantly reaffirmed her claim that Shields is the greatest of all time, even though there was never any doubt about it until this screenshot surfaced. The 35-year-old took to X and claimed she has always treated Shields with respect.
''For sure I’ve always given her respect. I will never not. I’ve told the world @Claressashields is amazing. I’m never one not to give credit. I’m in my own lane and if I don’t diss my opponents I won’t disrespect her.''
Among her many accomplishments, Shields, the most accomplished female boxer in the world, has won two gold medals at the Olympics and established her dominance in three weight classes.
As for the combat scene, Serrano recently defeated Stevie Morgan via second-round knockout at the Amalie Arena in Tampa this past Saturday. Meanwhile, Shields will make her boxing return on July 27 when she faces Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse for the WBC women’s heavyweight belt and the vacant WBO light heavyweight belt.
When Claressa Shields expressed her concern over Amanda Serrano's fight cancellation
Amanda Serrano's title defense against Nina Meinke earlier this year was canceled due to medical reasons. The Puerto Rican Boxing Commission declared the boxer ineligible for the fight owing to an eye injury.
Serrano rushed to social media to vent her disappointment and disclosed that she tried to fight through a corneal injury.
Following that, fellow boxing champion Claressa Shields offered her support for Serrano via social media, writing:
"I’m crying wtf! I’m so sorry @Serranosisters.''
Serrano expressed gratitude for the gesture, writing:
"Thank you hun I appreciate you. This is why you’re the GWOAT. When you like someone you ride with the 100% when you don’t you ain’t playing with them lol.''
