Drake is a big sports fan but his knowledge of the game has been notoriously poor when it comes to the teams he supports. That has been especially evident in MMA, where the rapper has a notoriously deficient track record with the fighters he backs.
The 37-year-old's sports fandom has been coined as the "Drake curse" on social media due to most of the athletes and teams he supports tending to lose. That included a sizeable bet he placed on Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 when the Nigerian lost his middleweight title to Sean Strickland in one of the biggest upsets in UFC championship history.
After the fight, the American Top Team social media account humorously tweeted at Drake requesting that he "does not bet on any of their fighters".

With a simple reply, American Top Team's comment read:
"True"

While Drake's bets have typically been a bad omen, the "Drake curse" has not been nearly as prominent in MMA as it is in other sports. Several of the fighters he has wagered on have won in big fights, including Alex Pereira at UFC 300.
