Mansur Malachiev has his mind set on one specific opponent following his big win last time out.
The Russian competitor has already faced some of the top names in the strawweight MMA division during his short time in ONE Championship.
Having rebounded from his loss to the world champion Joshua Pacio with a victory over Yosuke Saruta, he looked to put himself in the title picture at ONE Fight Night 25.
Malachiev emerged victorious in a close fight with Bokang Masunyane where his striking skills proved to be the difference on the night.

He then turned his attention to the interim champion in the division, Jarred Brooks, who has already beaten many of the top contenders in the weight class. In a post-fight interview with Nick Atkin, Malachiev spoke about wanting to put Brooks to the test next time out:
"Because for me, he is just a talker and not really a doer. So let Brooks prove that he's not just talking and he's not just an empty barrel that makes a lot of noise but he will show me he takes action. It will be nice to meet in Qatar in December, but let's see how it goes."

Mansur Malachiev is an interesting challenge for Jarred Brooks
In his fight with Joshua Pacio, Mansur Malachiev was unable to consistently take the fight to the ground, which cost him the decision.
Though he wasn't able to get Bokang Masunyane to the ground this past weekend, he was able to come out on top in the striking battle.
With Brooks being another of the division's best grapplers, there's a good chance that this fight would also become a striking clash.
Malachiev has got 'The Monkey God' in his sights and as he said in the interview, would be open to fighting him before the end of the year.
