'Smokin' Jo Nattawut is expecting to go to war as he looks to get himself back in the win column at ONE 170 on Jan. 24.

'Smokin' Jo has become an incredibly experienced high-level competitor during his time in ONE Championship. Despite all of the improvements that he has made along the way, results haven't gone his way in his recent outings.

That means that after fighting the best of the best, the Thai star is now tasked with taking on a hungry and rising contender who wants to join the elite group of featherweight Muay Thai competitors.

Bampara Kouyate is coming off of an impressive knockout win over Luke Lessei, who Jo Nattawut put on an instant classic war against.

With that in mind, the former world title challenger knows that he will have his hands full against Kouyate but he's prepared to go toe-to-toe with him at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, as he spoke about in a recent interview with ONE Championship:

"In terms of punching power, I think we are not that different. I am also a boxer who loves to punch, so I will use my fists against him. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. I will definitely go all out in this fight."

Jo Nattawut knows what he's capable of

Having respect for Bampara Kouyate doesn't make Jo Nattawut any less dangerous.

'Smokin' Jo has been involved in some absolute wars as well as serving as one half of some incredibly closely contested strategic chess matches.

He knows that he can do both if needed so now it's time for him to see what Bampara Kouyate is made of.

Kouyate certainly impressed in his win over Luke Lessei last time out but Nattawut is in need of a win and that makes him dangerous.
